Spring Competitive Program

Middletown Youth Soccer Club Competitive Soccer Program offers a place for more experienced players to test their skills and represent MYSC participating in the Rhode Island Youth Super Liga and other tournaments sanctioned by Soccer Rhode Island..  This program requires a higher level of commitment from players as the goal is to develop increased player skill levels and competitive team play. 

*Player Registration:

Spring 2013 Competitive Travel Soccer Registration is now open.  Players are required to be registered no later than 12:00 noon on their designated player assessment date or they will not be permitted to participate in tryouts.  All registered players receive primary consideration for placement on a spring competitive team.  Players who do not register and attend a designated tryout session for their age will be required to pay an additional $20.00 late registration fee.  These players will also be placed on a "waiting list" and assigned to a team only if a roster spot is open.

*Registration Fees:

Early Registration; the cost to register a player on or before 12:00 noon of the Make-up Tryout date for a desgnated age group is $80.00.  Late registration; after the Make-up Tryout session for each designated age group, the registration fees increase to $100.00.  If three or more family members register for Spring Competitive Soccer, the third (and each additional) player will receive a 50% discount on registration fees.

*Player Assessments:

All spring competivive players are required to attend one of the age division appropriate tryouts held in October and November.  It is recomended that in order to most accurately assess the player's abilities and skill level relative to his/her age group, players attend the Primary tryout session rather than the Make-up session that are less well attended.  All players must be registered by 12:00 noon on the day they attend a designated tryout session for their respective age group or they will not be permitted to participate in the tryout.

*Team Foramtion:

Team formations will occer after all tryout sessions (Primary & Make-up) have been completed.  Teams will be formed for only players that have registered and attended a tryout session. Team selection will be based on individual tryout results, number of teams and by positional player requirements. The MYSC Competitive Director and Club President will have final say on team formation.  Players will be notified of team placement by email address submitted during registartion.  This process will occur in mid-December.

*Playing Up Protocol:

Any player wishing to attempt to play-up must first register and attend a tryout session with their age appropriate team prior to attending any older age level tryout.  Players must also then provide an explaination, in writing,  for their request to play-up. Requests are to be subitted, via email, to Mr Walt Wildemann, MYSC President (president@middletownyouthsoccer.org).  All requests will be reviewed, howver there is no guarantee such requests will be approved.

All players will be placed on teams based on age (birth date). 

Under 8 - Born 8/1/2004 to 7/31/2006

Primary: Saturday, 13 October at 2:30pm

Make-up: Sunday, 28 October at 2:30pm

Under 10 - BoBorn 8/1/2002 to 7/31/2004

Primary: Sunday, 14 October at 2:30pm

Make-up: Saturday, 28 October at 2:30pm

Under 12 - Born 8/1/2000 to 7/31/2002

Primary: Saturday, 20 October at 2:30pm

Make-up: Saturday, 27 October at 2:30pm

Under 14 - Born 8/1/1998 to 7/31/2000

Primary: Sunday, 21 October at 2:30pm

Make-up: Saturday, 27 October at 2:30pm

Under 16 - Born 8/1/1996 to 7/31/1998

Primary: Saturday, 17 November at 1:30pm
